  1. In my family of origin, not only is my sister (she is 13 months my junior) fused with our mother, but is it possible for her to be fused with me?
When our mother died at the age of 91 in 2011, my sister cut me off/abandoned our relationship, absolutely refuses to discuss this with me.
She also has a son (age 37) who never left home, does not work, does not attend college, does not have an intimate relationship, although most of our family members believes him to be gay.

I know, sounds like a lot of family pathology here. I married an alcoholic (divorced now for 8 years), but during the marriage I attended AlAnon off and on for 9 years. Having an M.S.W., I understand developmental stages, but at a personal level, obviously there is a lot of hurt related to the sister cut-off.

    • BonnieJean, I’m sorry to hear of your pain – losing your mother & then the relationship with your sister. She doesn’t sound fused with you, but I don’t have enough info to suggest why she’s withdrawn.

It seems that you’ll have to ‘let go & let God’. How well are you taking care of your Inner Child?
Thank you for reading the blog. Keep going to Al-Anon. Have you found the phone meetings?
My best to you in your journey.
